Coverage Considerations
Extra large cage liners can be difficult to clean, take longer to dry and cause unnecessary wear and tear on laundry machines. This is why we recommend using TWO 2x3 Cage Liners instead of ONE 2x6 Cage Liner for a Jumbo (2x6 grid) Cage. This gives you the option to clean just half of the cage at a time, which saves time and energy if piggies tend to potty more in certain locations. Using two liners instead of one also allows for more movement in the washing machine which can result in cleaner fleece.
While most guinea pigs don't burrow, our absorbent cage liners are thick and quite heavy which is usually enough to deter piggies. For hard-core burrowers, placing a Hidey or Cozy on top of the overlap when using two 2x3 liners will usually do the trick.
Dimensions
- The 2x6 Cage Liner measures 31" x 88" (78cm x 223cm) before washing. After washing it measures about 27" x 84" (68cm x 213cm), allowing a 4" by 4" (10cm) shrinkage on the liner for washings!
- Each 2x3 Cage Liner measures 31" x 45" (78cm x 114cm) before washing. After washing they measure about 27" x 41" (68cm x 104cm), allowing a 4" by 4" (10cm) shrinkage on the liners for washings!
